Autonomous Maintenance

Care for your machines like you care for your car. In this Lean Minute, TXM China Consulting Director, Justin Tao, explains how Autonomous Maintenance means that operators do simple every day cleaning, lubricating and machine checks, just like the simple checks we do every time we get in our car.

Autonomous Maintenance is one of the key pillars of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and often the first pillar that companies introduce.

Drive your machine as you drive your car.

Welcome to this TXM Lean Minute, Today I am talking about autonomous maintenance.

Some operators might think I run the machine, maintenance fix it. At TXM we help companies get their machines working like they should.

Let’s take our cars as an example.

Every time you get into the car you will automatically check a few things, you check the mirrors, seat position, seat position and the seatbelt.

You will also check the fuel and keep the windscreen clean and dashboard tidy. These simple steps are how we should start our machines.

Operators found faults early, this can be fixed before the machine breaks down. By cleaning, tightening and lubricating, abnormalities can be found and the machines achieve a new level of performance.

Let’s do Autonomous Maintenance, Drive your machine as your drive your car.
